Abstract Submission

Abstract submission for EARLI SIG 15 2018 in Potsdam has been extended to March 15th 2018!

Paper submission

The complete Call for Papers can be downloaded here. Submitted conceptual papers may address conceptual, methodological, or evaluative issues.

Submitted research papers may address any form of special educational intervention or exploration study in any setting or age group. Methods can be quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods.

Submission deadline

Deadline for paper submission is March 15th 2018.

Paper selection

Submitted papers will be evaluated by the members of the Scientific Committee. Notification of acceptance is scheduled for 2 April 2018.

Submitting an abstract

You can enter the paper submission tool by clicking here or by copy and paste the following URL in your browser (conference.earli.org).

Please log into your EARLI account there or create a new one if you did not sign up yet. Then chose "New Submission" at your User Dashboard and create a New Submission or a New Symposium for SIG 15 Conference 2018. After creating the draft, add the abstract under "Paper Info" (see information about different presentation formats below) and four keywords, equipment, and participants under "Paper Meta Data". When finished, please save & submit your paper.

 

Presentation formats

There will be 3 presentation formats at the meeting, namely symposia, paper presentations and posters:

Symposium

Symposia are organized by a convenor and a discussant. Symposia consist of 3 or 4 individual papers from at least two different countries and are directed by a chairperson. The duration of each symposium is 90 minutes, including discussion (introduced by the discussant).

The organizer(s) is (are) responsible for collecting and submitting all symposium details, including general information and paper contributions, by following the instructions below:

General symposium abstracts: Abstracts should be 200-500 words (including references). The abstract should include

  1. Name(s) of organizer(s), presenters, and the discussant and their e-mail addresses, institutional affiliation(s), city, and country
  2. Title
  3. Information about the aims of the symposium and about the contribution of each presentation in the symposium.

Abstracts of each individual paper: Abstracts of individual papers should be 200-500 words (including references). Abstracts of each paper should include:

  1. Name(s) of the presenter(s), e-mail addresses, institutional affiliation(s), city, and country
  2. Title
  3. Theoretical background, research questions, methods, results, and interpretation of findings.

Paper Presentation

Individual paper presentations will be organized in thematic sessions of 90 minutes. The duration of each oral presentation is approximately 15-20 minutes including about 5 minutes for questions and comments of the audience.

Abstracts of Individual paperpresentations should be 200-500 words (including references) and should include the following information:

  1. Name(s) of the presenter(s), e-mail addresses, institutional affiliation(s), city, and country
  2. Title
  3. Theoretical background, research questions, methods, results, and interpretation of findings.

Poster Presentation

Posters are recommended when the contribution is strongly data-based and therefore particularly suited for graphical or visual presentation. Posters must be in the appropriate format:  DIN A0 size poster (84,1 cm wide × 118,9 cm high). This means that posters should be be displayed in portrait (long side standing up).

Abstracts of Individual posters should be 200-500 words (including references) and should include the following information:

  1. Name(s) of the presenter(s), e-mail addresses, institutional affiliation(s), city, and country
  2. Title
  3. Theoretical background, research questions, methods, results, and interpretation of findings.
