The English/Philology Department at the Center for Languages and Key Competences of the University of Potsdam administers the free e-Entrance Exam (E-EP) of the Department of English and American Studies in cooperation with the Department.

Upon publication in the Public Notices of the University of Potsdam, the following test regulations went into effect. Please read these regulations (in German) carefully:
The E-EP at the Department of English and American Studies is only valid for admission to study English at the University of Potsdam. If applicants pass the E-EP but do not study at the University of Potsdam, no equivalence certificate for other exams (for example, TOEFL®) will be issued.

The Entrance Exam takes place twice every year: in late May and/or in June.
The two examination dates for summer 2026--and the link for registration to the examination--will be posted here by in February 2026 at the latest.
The second examination date will be after the University Open House (HiT) in June.

If you miss the dates:
There is no alternative date for the Entrance Exam. Applicants who cannot make any of these dates must document their language skills by means of an equivalent language certificate. Contact the Examination Committee of the Department of English and American Studies.
