Near-Surface Geophysics

The main focus of our activities is in the field of Near-Surface Geophysics; i.e., developing and applying geophysical techniques (such as ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistivity, electromagnetic, and seismic methods) to explore and characterize the shallow subsurface. In addition to methodological developments this also includes the innovative application of geophysical techniques to selected problems from different disciplines (e.g., from archaeology, agriculture, civil engineering, and hydrology/hydrogeology).
