Kommentar: Dieses Vertiefungsseminar beleuchtet Probleme der sozialen Ungleichheit aus normativer Perspektive. Ziel des Seminars ist es Studierenden verschiedene Konzeptionen von Gleichheit näherzubringen und diese auf ihre Vereinbarkeit mit empirischen Forschungsergebnissen zu überprüfen.

fVS Political Theory of Climate Change

Kommentar:
This seminar aims to equip students with an in-depth understanding of the many normative issues that beset debates around the proper response to anthropogenic climate change. The seminar will in particular shed light on issues concerning the ideas of climate justice and legitimacy in climate politics, as well as the role of differentiated responsibilities for causing and/or mitigating climate change.
Students are expected to complete two core readings of academic articles a week. Since the seminar will run online this term, all students need to deliver the following assignments/Leistungsnachweise:
- Active participation in online group discussions / completion of questionnaires (a maximum of two weekly assignments can be missed)
- Write one 2-page text analysis of one of the core readings. Which students will be responsible for which texts will be discussed in week 1 of the course
- Write a 10page end of term essay/Hausarbeit on a course-relevant topic. Make sure that your topic was approved by the course convenor (Fabian Schuppert) as unsolicited essays will not be marked.
The seminar will be exclusively run in English. All assignments (group discussion inputs, text analysis, and the end of term essay/Hausarbeit) need to be submitted in English.

Kommentar: Dieses Seminar bietet Studierenden Einblick in die komplexe Debatte zu territorialen Rechten. Die Seminarsprache ist Deutsch, allerdings sind 90% der zu lesenden Texte auf Englisch und somit sehr gute Englischkenntnisse unabdingbar.

Kolloquium für Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte
Diese Kolloquium richtet sich an BA/MA Studierende, die entweder bereits ihre Abschlussarbeiten im Bereich der Ideengeschichte und Politischen Theorie angemeldet haben oder kurz davor stehen, sowie Doktoranden, und dient zur intensiven Diskussion bestehender Projekte und Entwürfe
Das Kolloquium dient darüber hinaus gelegentlich als Forum für Gastvorträge aus dem In- und Ausland.
