The Central Student Advisory Service is at your side from initial orientation as well as application and enrollment and throughout all stages of your studies. Over time, you might have a variety of issues, questions, and problems. We want to help you find your way around the University of Potsdam! Based on the diversity of lived realities of those seeking advice, we have created different focus areas for or services. These should help you find the right contacts for your specific situation. you can reach us as usual per telephone and Zoom during our office hours until March 31, 2023. As of April 1, 2023, we will be offering personal consultations in our offices again. Counseling with a Special Focus

Consultation Hours of the Mental Health Counseling Services

Stress, anxiety, blockades as well as personal conflicts and family problems can also occur during your studies – if the burden becomes too heavy, the Mental Health Counseling Service will be there for you. We will also support your search for a suitable therapist. Feel free to contact us during drop-in office hours for a shorter conversation or schedule an individual appointment where we can discuss your concerns in more detail.

Consultation Hours with a Focus on the Inclusive Organization of University Studies

This offer is targeted at prospective students, current students, and doctoral candidates living under special circumstances – that includes, for example, a disability, chronic illness, or care obligations.  Based on your individual needs, the following topics, among others, may be addressed during consultations: Planning and organizing your studies, individual equality measures, academic work (e.g. questions on learning strategies or academic writing techniques), motivation, procrastination and writer’s block. We will be happy to offer you long-term assistance!

Consultation Hours for Vocationally Qualified Applicants without a Higher Education Entrance Qualification

There’s more than one way to become a student at the UP! You have a vocational qualification, want to study, but don’t know how that works? It is possible to study without a university entrance qualification from a school. Contact us so we can discuss your situation and possibly open up new perspectives for you.

Consultation Hours of the Student Team for Accessibility

Our student advisors for accessibility are part of the team of the Commissioner for Students with Disabilities at the university and are always in close dialog with Mr. Meile thanks to regular team meetings. To truly create “One University for All”, they offer guidance and advice to other students, especially with regard to academic work, the organization of your studies as well as any questions relating to individual equality measures.
