Are you planning to obtain a further qualification by continuing your studies after your bachelor's degree or other first degree? A master's degree could be the right choice for you. On the following pages you will find concrete information about both the contents of the master's degree programs for different subjects as well as the formalities of how to apply to a master's program at our university.

What master's programs are available?

At the University of Potsdam you can choose from a wide selection of subjects for a master's degree. There are three basic categories of degree programs.

1. Consecutive Master’s Degree Programs
follow a first professional academic degree, e.g. a bachelor's degree. At the University of Potsdam these courses of study award the degrees of Master of Arts (M.A.) or Master of Science (M.Sc.).

2. Master’s Degree Programs Related to Teacher Education
follow a bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree related to teacher education or non-teacher education. The degree awarded is the Master of Education (M.Ed.). You can find more information about teacher training here:

3. Continuing Education Master's Degree Courses
require subject-related professional experience in addition to a bachelor's degree. These courses of study can be completed at the University of Potsdam with one of the following qualifications: Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Laws (LL.M.) oder Master of European Governance and Administration (MEGA).
