If you are enrolled at a university abroad and want to spend one to two semesters in Potsdam in the context of your doctoral studies, you can enroll here as a so called "PhD freemover".

As a freemover, you will have a student status at the University of Potsdam, you can enjoy everything that the university has to offer, as well as student services and the advantages of the semester ticket.

Please have the following documents ready for registration:

• Copy of your valid passport or identity card
• Letter of invitation from your host/supervisor in Potsdam
• Proof of enrollment at your home university in German or English language
• Last university degree earned (Bachelor's or Master's degree)
• Membership confirmation from your health insurance company
• Biometric passport photo
• If applicable, scholarship award letter from a German institution
