Welcome City Walk in Potsdam

24^th October | 4:00 p.m.

We invite you to join us for a late afternoon stroll through Potsdam’s city center. Our knowledgeable colleague Carolin will offer you interesting insights into the history and architecture of Potsdam. The tour will take about 1,5 hours. Meeting point is in front of the Barberini Museum (details will be provided after the registration).

Reformation Day

31^st October

Reformation Day is a Protestant holiday celebrated on 31^st of October in Brandenburg and numerous other states in Germany. It commemorates the day Martin Luther nailed the Ninety Five Theses to the door of the All Saints Church in Wittenberg in 1517, which ultimately led to the spread of Protestantism. Although Reformation Day is celebrated in Brandenburg, it is not celebrated in neighbouring Berlin.

Online information event on the migration law

10^th November | 3:00 - ca. 4:30 p.m.

A specialist lawyer for migration law will give an overview of German immigration law with a focus on scientists and students (the "Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz" and particularly its recent innovations). The various requirements for renewal, employment and family reunion will also be discussed. After the lecture, there will be the possibility for individual questions. The event will not be recorded.

Online Information Event on German Pension Insurance (DRV)

13^th November | 4:00 - ca. 5:00 p.m.

A representative of the German Pension Insurance Scheme (DRV) will give an overview about the German pension system. He will explain who will be eligible in future for pension payments from Germany and who might get a refund of the contributions paid to the pension insurance.

To take part we kindly ask you to register via e-mail by 12^th November and let us know your host institution (University of Potsdam, HPI, GFZ, PIK, AWI, AIP).
