Companies are also increasing their focus on diversity. To do so, it is necessary to value different perspectives and create an inclusive working environment. The English-language degree program “Intercultural Communication and Management” is a continuing education master’s degree program for students with work experience who want to grow professionally and personally and shape our globalized world. The program aims to impart theoretical and practical knowledge from the fields of intercultural communication and management in a balanced manner.

Program Content

The continuing education master’s degree program in Intercultural Communication and Management aims to enable students to take on management and leadership roles relating to communication within companies of various sizes on the basis of existing academic qualifications and professional experience. As part of the master’s program for working professionals, students will acquire fundamental knowledge and approaches in linguistics, cultural studies, and business administration as well as specific management competencies. Emphasis is placed on establishing a close link between science and practice. Technical and methodological competencies are therefore taught in an application-oriented manner.

Program Objective and Future Career Options

The degree program creates optimal conditions for professional careers in demanding positions on the German and international job market. Graduates of the degree program are able to develop solutions to problems in all areas of multilingual and intercultural business communication – especially in the fields of market analysis, consulting, communication management, marketing, mediation, diversity management, and human resources.

Prerequisites for Admission to the Master’s Program

In general, the prerequisite for master’s studies is a first academic degree, such as a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must provide proof of English language skills of at least level B2 (CEFR). You do not need to provide proof of German language skills. Applicants must also provide evidence of at least one year of professional experience.
