Back at the University of Potsdam
It's great to have you back at the University of Potsdam and to have you share your international experiences with us.
Become a Campus Ambassador – Get Involved Internationally at UP!
Have you recently returned from a study abroad program or internship, or are you an international student at the University of Potsdam?
Would you like to share your experiences, support international students, and actively contribute to campus life?
As a Campus Ambassador for the International Office, you will:
- Support international students at welcome, orientation, and campus events
- Share authentic peer experiences about studying, living, and settling in at UP or about time spent abroad
- Contribute to social media formats, interviews, or takeovers
- Strengthen international communities and contribute your own ideas for a vibrant international campus culture
Your commitment as a Campus Ambassador for one semester (Summer Semester 2026) will be recognized with a lump-sum stipend of €500 as an honorary (volunteer) position (tax-free).
If you are interested, please send your application (CV and a letter of motivation — you are welcome to include your own ideas or preferred activities) by email no later than March 02, 2026 to iris.dupont-nivetuuni-potsdampde.
Student initiatives
In addition to the Erasmus Student Network Potsdam, there are many other international initiatives where you can make contacts, meet students with similar interests, and volunteer to organize projects and promote exchange at the University of Potsdam.
Amnesty International
The Amnesty International university group offers students the opportunity to actively campaign for human rights and social justice.
University Group of the Young European Federalists Berlin-Brandenburg
The university group JEF enables students to actively participate in discussions and projects relating to European politics.
IAESTE University Group
The IAESTE University Group provides information about internships worldwide, supports students and international interns, and promotes intercultural exchange.
UNICEF University Group
Volunteer students at the aid organization UNICEF campaign for children's rights and raise awareness through their own campaigns.
Student councils
You have probably been familiar with student councils since you began your studies. Involvement in student councils represents the interests of students in a particular department, provides support with organizational issues, and offers an important platform for exchange and networking within the student body. The English/American Studies and Romance Studies student councils, for example, have an international focus.
Sprachangebote des ZESSKO
The Center for Languages and Key Competences (Zessko) offers you a wide range of opportunities to expand your language skills and put them into practice. You can take traditional language courses as part of UNIcert®, participate in a language tandem, or exchange ideas with others in one of the regular language cafés.
