Inclusive E-Assessment
Inclusive E-Assessment
E-Assessments can reduce barriers by offering flexibility in terms of location and time but also create new forms of exclusion. For an inclusive E-Assessment, consider the following points:
- Provide images with image descriptions
- Offer multiple methods for entering answers (mouse, keyboard, touch)
- Make assistance systems usable: e.g. screen magnifier, text to speech software (contact us for assistance in setting this up)
- Let students test the exam formats before the actual exam
- Transparency: give students the opportunity to discreetly inform you of limitations so you can adjust your E-Assessment accordingly
- Review: Are graphics readable for color-blind students? For example, with the Color Contrast Analyzer
