Financing Student Assistants

Due to the large number of applications, the PoGS funding budget for 2026 has unfortunately already been exhausted. No further funding can be approved at this time.

The Potsdam Graduate School (PoGS) supports PhD candidates, Postdocs, Junior and Tenure Track Professors at the University of Potsdam by financing student assistants. It helps to support your scientific work. You can apply for financing a student assistant with or without university degree. You can submit an application for funding at any time. There are no application deadlines. Grants are awarded subject to available funds.

Conditions for subsidy

• Membership in the Potsdam Graduate School.
• The student assistant may only take on work that is related to your scientific work.
• Applications can only be considered if the PoGS still has funding available.

Subsidy amounts

PhD Candidates:  Please refer to the document “Information on application financing a student assistant for PhD candidates” (see download box below) for the current maximum funding rates.

Postdocs, Junior and Tenure Track Professors: The maximum funding amount per person and calendar year is a total of €2500. This amount applies as a total amount for all funding and can be used at your own personal decision for the different funding areas (except coaching) per calendar year.
