Postdoc - Bridge Program

Postdocs who have submitted their own application, e.g. for UP junior research groups (“UP-Nachwuchsgruppen”) or for DFG funding "Temporary Positions for Principal Investigators" (“Eigene Stelle”) and have to bridge the period of the review, can be funded with up to 6 months (TVL 13/50%).

Up to three grants are awarded for new applications from people not affiliated with the University of Potsdam. The postdoc scholarship amounts to 1,750 Euro per month, plus a one-time grant of 250 Euro to cover the cost of materials.

Applications can be submitted continuously and informally by providing information on the project, timeline and amount of required financial resources.

Prerequisite for funding

  • Submit an informal application with details of the project, period and amount of required financial resources.
  • The application for e.g. UP junior research groups or DFG funding "Temporary Positions for Principal Investigators"must be submitted.
  • Funding is possible for a maximum of once every two years.
  • Own funds are not required.
