For international Students, whose financial situation requires support due to the war in Ukraine, the University of Potsdam offers socalled "Emergency fund scholarships".

Evangelische Studierendengemeinde Berlin
ESG Berlin-Notfonds
The Ecumenical Emergency Fund (ESG Berlin-Notfonds) provides financial support for students from Africa, Asia and Latin America or another OECD country. The following students are not funded: foreign students holding a German university entrance qualification; Students with German / European spouses.
Application requirements:
The financial aid can be requested in case of a social emergency, to promote students who have a study-related temporary residence, are in an examination or internship situation, and are completing a "ERST-STUDIUM" in Germany. To repeat the application, social and development policy engagement must be provided.
Notfall-Fonds (Emergency Fund) DAAD-Stiftung
The Notfall-Fonds (Emergency Fund) provides financial support for students in an exceptional unexpected emergency situation (an unexpected stroke of fate or a sudden damaging event).
All other resources (e.g. scholarships, financial aid by the university, assistance from family/friends, student jobs, other personal options to receive support, student loans, alternative solutions) must be exhausted.
