Ausbildung zur Kauffrau für Büromanagement

The training for office professions has changed again and again in recent years. In 1998, the training was still called management assistant for office communication, a few years earlier it was called secretary, and at the University of Potsdam we are now called assistant professors. It is by no means a boring "office job", because a variety of tasks await us every day.

For example, we support the teaching staff in their preparation and follow-up work for seminars, lectures and practical projects. We organise business trips, meetings and conferences, manage budget and third-party funds, are the contact persons for the academic staff of a department - from the chair holder to the research assistant and, of course, the many students who take the courses in the respective department. We are on hand to advise students, guide them through the university's own portals such as Moodle or PULS and help them with the student regulations. We answer questions in telephone consultation hours, via email or also in personal consultation hours.

In a rotation of 1 week of vocational school and 2 weeks of practical experience at the department, the trainees learn the profession of office management assistant at the vocational school and in the company. Here you can find more information about the training content.
