The project “From understanding learners’ adaptive motivation and emotion to designing social learning companions” is part of the Cluster of Excellence “Science of Intelligence” (SCIoI) at the Technische Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (funding: DFG; 2019-2025).

The aim is to develop adaptive learning technologies that take into consideration particularly students’ emotional and motivational learning requirements in order to best support their individual learning processes.

The psychological part of the project is under the supervision of the Department of School Pedagogy (Prof. Dr. Rebecca Lazarides), while the educational technology part is directed by the Departments of Didactics of Informatics (Prof. Niels Pinkwart) and Adaptive Systems (Prof. Dr. Verena Hafner) from HU Berlin.

We also cooperate closely in the project with the Department of Didactics of Geography (Prof. Dr. Nina Brendel) at the University of Potsdam.
