Free Mover Applications

You would like to go abroad and already have a specific university in mind? Unfortunately, it is not one of the partner universities of the University of Potsdam? We have compiled some information on how you can still get to your desired university abroad by submitting an individual application.

How it works

Tip

Be sure to contact the International Office of your future host university at the beginning of your application process. In addition to up-to-date information, you can also get very specific tips there on how to apply, language courses, and housing options!

Individual application means that: You plan and organize your entire study abroad experience independently. You can apply to most universities around the world.

Since you will have to do your own research on the admission requirements and application deadlines of the respective university and are responsible for ensuring that all required documents (e.g. language certificates) are received by your university of choice on time, you should plan at least one year of preparation time for your individual application.
You can usually find specific deadlines and information on individual applications on the website of your university of choice, usually under the heading “International Affairs".
