Tim Bayer

Tim Bayer has been employed at the Chair of Empirical Economics at the University of Potsdam since April 2025. Previously, he was a doctoral student at the Department of Economics at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden from 2020 to 2025. He completed his Master's degree in Economics in 2019 and his Bachelor's degree in Economics in 2016, both at the University of Mannheim.

Tim is an applied microeconomist with research interests in labour market economics, tax policy, family economics and education economics. His current research focuses on the impact of tax policy on married women's labour market decisions and on young people's human capital investment.
