Dr. Marica Valente

Marica Valente is Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Innsbruck. She is an empirical microeconometrician and an environmental economist. She works on a variety of microeconomic topics - environment but also health, labor, conflicts, and illegality - using causal inference and machine learning tools.

Marica Valtente is Associate Editor of the Journal of Wine Economics and Frontiers in Climate. She is affiliated with DIW Berlin, Department of Energy, Transportation, and Environment.

She obtained her PhD in Economics from the Humboldt University under the supervision of Bernd Fitzenberger and Jeffrey Wooldridge.

Marica Valente has been holding the "Machine Learning" course every year since the winter semester 2021/22.
