Higher Education Entrance Qualifications Bachelor’s & First State Examination in Law

Applicants who have obtained their school-leaving qualification abroad (foreign university entrance qualifications) must obtain recognition as certification that you are allowed to study in the federal state of Brandenburg before applying for the 1st and/or higher semesters as follows:

Education Autority of Cottbus (Staatliches Schulamt Cottbus) : Submit the documents required for the acceptance of your foreign school-leaving qualification (Please also refer to the information sheet on the website of the Staatliches Schulamt Cottbus) to the Staatliches Schulamt Cottbus. You will receive a certificate from the Staatliches Schulamt Cottbus (confirmation of your university entrance qualifications and the converted grade) with which you can then – including a copy of your university entrance qualifications – apply at the University of Potsdam using the online application portal.

uni-assist e.V.: For recognition via uni-assist e.V.  please use the online application portal and register there for the University of Potsdam for having the subject recognized: “Evaluation of university entrance qualifications” ("Bewertung der HZB").  You can easily upload the certificates and documents required for the evaluation of your university entrance qualification via the uni-assist application portal. You will receive a verification report (confirmation of your university entrance qualifications and the converted grade) from uni-assist e.V. with which you can then – including a copy of your university entrance qualifications – apply at the University of Potsdam using the “online application portal.”

In case of foreign university entrance qualifications, proof of adequate German skills is also necessary (e.g. DSH).
