With our roadshows, we address various key topics such as AI & Innovation, Science Communication, and Research Integrity at different university locations, creating spaces for exchange and inspiration for our PoGS community. Watch out! Before each roadshow, you will already find us with a PoGS PopUp place near the cafeteria/mensa – just follow the smell of popcorn and try your luck at the PoGS prize wheel!

The third stop on the roadshow will be in Golm on October 01, 2026, from 01:00-05:00 pm focusing on research integrity.
The event combines expert talks, dialogue formats, and an interactive marketplace on the topic of research integrity.
With these varied formats, we will highlight the many facets of research integrity. Learn about new aspects and deepen your understanding of this topic. This will help you to safeguard your personal research integrity and protect your own scientific work, your reputation, and ultimately your career.

Program Details
Keynote - AI, Power Dynamics and Predatory Practices:
Old and New Challenges to Research Integrity (EN)
This keynote addresses the challenges to research integrity (RI) in today's rapidly evolving research landscape. Dr. Katrin Frisch offers insights into the impact of AI in research, the problems of paper mills and predatory practices. She also analyzes the “Publish or Perish” paradigm’s role in incentivizing RI violations, and the implications of power imbalances in academic environments for upholding good research practice. And she will also share practices for promoting integrity as well as strategies for recognizing and dealing with research misconduct.
Dr. Katrin Frisch has been working as a researcher at the Ombuds Committee for Research Integrity in Germany (OWID)since May 2020, specifically in the project "Discussion Hubs to Foster Research Integrity", with a focus on research data and, since 2023, artificial intelligence. Between March 2023 and March 2024, she also worked as a research integrity advisor at the OWID office. She is co-chairing the AI Working Group of the European Network of Research Integrity Offices.
Q&A Sessions with Input from Experts
In this question-and-answer format, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your most important questions on the topics of “AI and Research Integrity” and “Research Integrity and Authorship” directly with experts. After a brief introduction on each topic, there will be opportunity to ask questions and share examples from your own research projects. So please take advantage of this opportunity to participate actively, or simply benefit from listening and pick up some key Take-Home Messages.
How to Maintain Integrity when Using Generative AI in Your Research – Dr. Katrin Frisch (EN)
*Since the release of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools, there has been much discussion about how the use of AI in research should be dealt with from the perspective of research integrity. While a consensus on some matters was quickly reached, other issues are still being debated. This has led to a rather heterogeneous policy landscape.
In this session, you will learn to navigate the existing AI policy landscape so you can use genAI responsibly and in line with research integrity. The session has a practical bend covering disclosure statements for different use cases of AI in publications and what to keep in mind when it comes to working with AI in research, for example regarding peer review or using AI-generated images.
Research integrity and authorship – how to assign authorship in a responsible way – Dr. Nele Reeg (EN)
Following the principals of good research practice (GRP) is an integral part of the everyday work of all scientists. But what does that actually mean in the context of authorship? What are the criteria for authorship according to GRP guidelines? Which practices are regarded as unacceptable? What should I keep in mind when negotiating authorship? After a brief talk covering these issues, we will not only discuss open questions and potential challenges when assigning authorship, but also gather recommendations and tips on how to navigate authorship issues responsibly.
Dr. Nele Reeg having a background in life sciences has been working as research associate in the project “Discussion Hubs to Foster Research Integrity” at the Ombuds Committee for Research Integrity in Germany (OWID) since 2020. In her work, she focuses on authorship and handling of authorship conflicts.
Elevator Talks (EN)
At the Elevator Talks, you’ll learn about the University of Potsdam’s departments and offers that address various topics related to research integrity and provide support. Through engaging presentations followed by Q&A sessions, you’ll gain insights into the work of the university’s key stakeholders and have the opportunity to make valuable connections.

We are part of the combined team of the University Library (UB) and the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM). Our mission is to support researchers and staff at the University of Potsdam in managing research data and research software. We provide consulting and training services and offer information on relevant services (e.g., RADAR-BB, RDMO-BB) and guidelines. We also connect people and monitor developments in research policy related to research data, FAIR data, and Open Science.
