We are looking forward to the second roadshow, which will focus on science communication and will take place on June 9 at Campus Neues Palais. Places are limited, so please register here early.
PoGS on tour – lets meet us there!
With our roadshows, we address various key topics such as AI & Innovation, Science Communication, and Research Integrity at different university locations, creating spaces for exchange and inspiration for our PoGS community. We warmly invite you to follow our roadshow tour, to jointly strengthen and expand networks and expertise across locations.
Watch out! Before each roadshow, you will already find us with a PoGS PopUp place near the cafeteria/mensa – just follow the smell of popcorn and try your luck at the PoGS prize wheel!

Program Details
Does my research have potential for science communication? Which channel works for me? What “story” can I tell?
All these questions are valid and important when you are at the beginning of your science communication journey. The type of communication and the medium you choose must fit both you and your research. The message often determines the channel—but at the start, it is about finding both, along with the courage and motivation to engage with them.
That is why we have invited former participants of our program “Science Communication – Transferring Expert Knowledge to Society” to talk about their path into science communication: How did they find their audience, and how did it change their perception of their own research?
Afterwards, there will be a “Sky Walk” with experts and various players from the University of Potsdam who implicitly and explicitly engage in and support science communication. Take this opportunity to connect and continue the conversation.
In the second part, you will have the chance to explore the topic in a hands-on workshop session. Where does my research/project have a need for communication? How do I find the right audience, and how can I communicate most effectively? Together with trainer Anna Kollenberg, you will explore the communication potential of your research and have the opportunity to bring this to life. The phdscicom group will also be part of the event. We are also delighted that our neighbours from pro Wissen Potsdam e.V. on the Science Floor will be joining us. We warmly invite you to join us in developing “wild ideas” for your science communication at the Design Thinking workshop. The short workshop will focus not only on science communication, but also on introducing the Design Thinking method, which delivers creative results and an first prototype within 90 minutes. The workshops will run side by side and places are limited. Be sure – register here: Registration
