Andreas Johannes Ullmann is a political scientist who teaches and conducts research at the intersection of international relations and international law. His work focuses primarily on the empirical investigation of questions in the areas of human rights, international organizations, the environment, and development. His work has been published in journals such as Review of International Organizations, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and European Journal of International Law. In his doctoral project, he examined state compliance with the individual complaint procedures of the UN human rights treaty bodies. Between 2022 and 2024, he was senior editor of the Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen (Journal of International Relations) during the editorship of Andrea Liese and Thomas Sommerer. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and an M.A. in Political Science with a focus on Comparative Politics and Area Studies from the University of Hamburg.
