ENSURED

In November 2023, the EU-funded research project ‘ENSURED’ (‘Transforming and Defending Multilateralism: European Union Support for more Robust, Effective and Democratic Global Governance’) was launched as part of HORIZON Europe. Fourteen partners from Europe, Brazil, China, India, South Africa and the USA are involved. The project is coordinated by Maastricht University, with Prof. Dr. Andrea Liese and Prof. Dr. Thomas Sommerer representing the University of Potsdam. Using case studies on trade, climate, health, human rights and digitalisation, as well as quantitative analyses and expert surveys, the project examines how the EU can make global governance more robust, effective and democratic.
