Through Python sessions in Jupyter notebooks, participants will process real single-cell RNA sequencing data, filter noise, detect differentially expressed genes, and identify distinct cell populations based on marker signatures. Once the core workflow is mastered, they will reconstruct gene regulatory networks using tools such as pySCENIC and simulate cell-fate decisions using Boolean models inspired by real biological research.

This blended summer school delves into the global history of processes of refuge-seeking. It explores the many challenges that newcomers labeled as refugees and migrants face but also focuses on the opportunities they create in their new home countries. It engages the manifold ways in which citizens have responded to migrants and refugees over time – from the Huguenots’ arrival in Brandenburg-Prussia in 1685 to the present – and in various places, including France, Australia, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Germany. This 3-week blended programme introduces students to digital electronics, embedded software, and IoT networking. Through lectures, hands-on practical sessions, and a real-world challenge with the company Eco-Counter, participants explore how smart devices collect, process, and transmit data. Bewerbungsverfahren:
1. Sie bewerben sich für alle u. g. Summer School-Angebote direkt bei den Partneruniversitäten mit den jeweils genannten Bewerbungsunterlagen.
2. Melden Sie sich für die Bewerbung um das Stipendium über unser MoveOn-Formular (wählen Sie „EDUC Outgoing grant“ aus) an und laden dabei die folgenden Unterlagen hoch:
- kurzes aussagekräftiges Motivationsschreiben (maximal eine Seite)
- Anmeldebestätigung der Partneruniversität zum Kurs
- tabellarischer Lebenslauf
- aktuelle PULS-Leistungsübersicht
Bitte beachten Sie hierbei die unterschiedlichen Bewerbungsfristen von Ende Januar bis April 2026 und die maximale Anzahl an Plätzen pro Kurs für Studierende der Universität Potsdam.
Die Unterrichtssprache in allen Kursen ist Englisch, weshalb Sprachkenntnisse mindestens auf dem Niveau B2 erforderlich sind.
Stipendien:
Studierende, die von der jeweiligen Partneruniversität für eine Teilnahme ausgewählt wurden, erhalten von der Universität Potsdam Stipendien in der folgenden Höhe:
- einwöchige Summer Schools: 550,00 EUR
- zweiwöchige Summer Schools: 1.100,00 EUR
Doktorand*innen mit Studierendenstatus, die für eine Teilnahme ausgewählt wurden, erhalten von der Universität Potsdam ein Stipendium in Höhe von 550,00 EUR.
Doktorand*innen, die an der UP angestellt sind, erhalten eine Förderung über ERASMUS* STT-Mobilität. Sprechen Sie uns an zum Bewerbungsverfahren.
Das Stipendium ist als Unterstützung für die Zahlung der ggf. anfallenden Kursgebühren sowie Reise- und Aufenthaltskosten vorgesehen. Bitte beachten, dass das Stipendium ggf. nicht die gesamten Kosten abdeckt und planen Sie daher Ihren Eigenanteil rechtzeitig ein.
Stipendien sind solange die Kurse hier ausgeschrieben sind, erhältlich!

Wer kann sich bewerben?
Grundsätzlich stehen die Angebote und Stipendien allen Studierenden innerhalb der EDUC Allianz offen, so lange sie an einer der Allianzuniversitäten eingeschrieben sind. Auch Studierende, die über einen Erasmus-Austausch oder als internationale Studierende an der Universität Potsdam sind, können sich auf die Stipendien bewerben, solange sie für die gesamte Dauer des Angebots an der Universität Potsdam eingeschrieben sind.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass es einzelnen Angebote mit bestimmten zusätzlichen Teilnahmevoraussetzungen gibt, die in der jeweiligen Beschreibung vermerkt sind.
Kann ich mir die Kurse an der Universität Potsdam anerkennen lassen?
Dies hängt grundsätzlich von der eigenen Studienordnung an der Universität Potsdam ab und muss mit dem Prüfungsausschuss des eigenen Studienfaches (am besten vorab) geklärt werden.
Grundsätzlich läuft der Anerkennungsprozess analog zu jenem regulärer Auslandssemester oder auch coronabedingter Online-Auslandssemester entsprechend des Leitfadens zur Anerkennung bzw. Fakultäts- oder Instituts-interner Regelungen ab.
Es ist empfehlenswert, vor Beginn des Kurses ein Learning Agreement abzuschließen, um die Anerkennung vorab mit dem hiesigen Prüfungsausschuss zu klären. Eine EDUC-Vorlage für ein Learning Agreement gibt es bisher nicht, weshalb die auf der folgenden Seite verlinkte allgemeine Vorlage des International Office genutzt werden kann.
Werden im Rahmen der Summer Schools Noten vergeben?
In der Regel nein. Sollten Sie eine Note zur Anerkennung des Kurses an der Universität Potsdam benötigen, kontaktieren Sie vorab die anbietende Hochschule zur Einzelfallklärung.
