People communicate, not cultures. Intercultural communication is about communication between people who have different cultural backgrounds based on influence from a number of different sources and group belongings, such as family, education, profession, nation and transnational impact.

Regardless of reason, people have different ways of communicating and different ways of thinking, which can cause tension. Such tension is nothing strange or negative. It occurs in any relationship. But how we deal with such tension can decide whether we succeed or not in new contexts and work environments. The field of intercultural communication provides knowledge which can be used to develop intercultural competence.

At the end of the course participants will: • have knowledge of intercultural communication as a field of study; • have knowledge of topics such as ethnocentrism, stereotypes, nonverbal communication, verbal communication styles, the concept of culture, mindsets and face saving; • be able to reflect on how to change perspectives and better adapt to different contexts; • be able to reflect on one's own development of intercultural competence; • be able to reflect on the complexity of cultural background and a dynamic approach to communication between people; • be able to reflect on how to develop intercultural competence.

The course aimed at providing students with basic knowledge, analytical and methodological tools, and notions about history and institutions of the Arab world. In the last part of the course, the topics of the current best-known debate will be focused, even by specific workshops. Students will have to acquire the ability to read a work of medieval art in its technical, iconographic and iconological, formal and stylistic, historical and cultural values, and understanding the historical-artistic path.

The main Program / course contents is the following:

1. Methods of reading medieval works of art.
2. Evolutionary phases of medieval art from the beginning of the IV to the end of the XIV century, with reference to Sardinia.
3. Monumental contexts and single late antique, Roman-Barbarian, Byzantine, Longobard, Carolingian, Ottonian, Romanesque and Gothic works of art, with reference to Sardinia.
4. Comparisons between Mediterranean and European medieval and Sardinian artistic monuments

The main goal of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, tools (theoretical and methodological) that will enable them to: 1) Learn the strategic role of marketing for companies and organizations; 2) Learn the evolving characteristics of corporate communication, with a specific focus on its strategies and tools; 3) Learn the importance of digital platforms and social media for companies and organizations; 4) Create and manage a digital communication project work, with a particular focus on social network sites. The course is articulated in 3 parts. The first one is about marketing and its evolution for companies and organizations. The second part deals with corporate communication, highlighting different stakeholders, areas and to tools to manage the communication mix. A specific focus will be dedicated to crisis communication and corporate social responsibility, thanks also to the discussion of traditional and unconventional case studies. The third part is about digital communication and social media communication (blogs, social networking sites, etc.), focused with theoretical and practical approaches and best practice.

The students of the Virtual Module of Future Europe, at the end of the course will get a general knowledge about the present and future politics of the European Union in a multidisciplinary framework. The course's aim is to give a basic knowledge that can help the students in understanding the functioning of the European Union and its action. The students will acquire the necessary tools to critically analyse the interaction between the EU ant the international and global dynamics and present problems.
