Implemented measures

This is an overview of the implemented measures for environmental protection at the UP. These were carried out by the Environmental Commission, various university groups, the university management, various areas of the university administration, the AStA of the UP and/or external agencies.

• Photovoltaics on 3 different buildings with a total of 113.3 kWp since 2010, organized by the university facility management (HGP)
• Photovoltaic cells on building 6 in Golm, owned by university group Uni-Solar (since 2010).
• Establishment of the Environmental Commission by the UP Senate (2012).
• Use of renewable electricity (with new installation quota) by HGP since 2014.
• Extension of the bicycle path between the Neue Palais and Golm by the city of Potsdam in consultation with the transport commission of the UP
• Studium Oecologicum - courses on the topic with credits via StudiumPlus
• Establishment of flower meadows on the campus by the initiative Bunte Wiese and the HGP (since 2014)

• Availability of rental bicycles for students (cooperation agreement of the AStA with Nextbike)
• Edible campus: fruit trees at the Griebnitzsee campus since 2018
• Development of the climate protection concept by the environmental commission & the HGP (2019)
• Installation of bicycle repair stations on campus by the Central Division (2019)
• Complete transition to procurement of recycled paper by Division 4 (2019)
• Offer of campus bicycles for employees organized by the Central Division (2020)
• Offer of the discounted company ticket for public transport, organized by the Division for Human Resources and the VBB (since 2020)
• Establishment of the climate protection management of the UP by the university management and the HGP (2020)
• Organization of a lecture series on the climate crisis by the climate protection management & Scientists for Future (2020)
