What are Gender Equality Officers (abbreviation: GBAs) and who are we?

From the Brandenburg University Law(BbgHG):
"The Gender Equality Officers advise and support the President and the other organs and institutions of the university in all matters concerning equal opportunities for women and men, in particular with regard to target agreements, structural and personnel decisions as well as with regard to the preparation and monitoring of guidelines for the advancement of women and plans for the advancement of women. They inform the members and relatives of the university and accept suggestions and complaints. (§68 Para. 2 BbgHG)

This paragraph also defines that only women may be elected and appointed to the position of Gender Equality Officers and alternates. The Gender Equality Officers sit, among other things, on the Faculty Board Meetings, the Appeals Commissions and committees such as the Commission for Equal Opportunities (abbreviation: CGK). A further field of activity is the provision of information, advice and support to members of the university when problems arise.  In addition, there is the implementation of measures from the faculty's Gender Equality Plan, such as the "Women in Tech" events and other activities.

The elected decentralised Gender Equality Officer at the Digital Engineering Faculty is Lisa Ihde (Student Master IT-Systems Engineering) and her deputy is Nele Sina Noack (Student Master Data Engineering). If you have any suggestions, hints, questions, problems or complaints you can send us an e-mail or leave an anonymous message in our mailbox. We are available for personal conversations / consultations after arrangement. In addition, our weekly meetings are open to all university members. We inform about upcoming meetings via gremieninfoslists.myhpide and on myhpi.de you can find the past minutes.
