• Strengthened links between host institutions and their international alumni.
• Initiation and launch of increased joint activities and collaborations (e.g., research projects and publications) between host and alumni researchers.
• Establishment of a worldwide research alumni network of the University of Potsdam.
• Increasing the international visibility of Potsdam as a research location.

If funding is approved, a travel allowance is covered by a flat rate depending on the country of departure. The minimum duration of the stay is 7 days, but the stay can also extend over a longer period and be reimbursed accordingly by the lump sum on a pro rata basis. Payment of the lump sum will be made after the stay upon presentation of the relevant reimbursable receipts. For the sustainability of the funded research meeting, it is recommended in any case to plan further activities and projects beyond the 7 days and to supplement them with further third-party funding. After completion of the funding, a short final report on the activities carried out is requested (approx. 1-2 pages).

Amount of the grant: Travel allowance staggered according to the country of origin plus accommodation allowance in Potsdam.

The accounting departement is currently processing the reimbursements; the processing time is approx. 7 months.

German or English language applications are submitted by the host at the University of Potsdam using the online form below.

The following documents must be submitted with the application:

•     Completed online application form
•     Description of the research project (max. 3 pages): Topic, objectives, long-term impact and general timeline as well as schedule and program activities during the stay in Potsdam.
•     Statement of the host in Potsdam (max. 1 page)
•     Curriculum vitae of the research alumnus or alumna (max. 2 pages), which should include previous meetings between host and alumnus or alumna as well as the alumnus' or alumna's previous stay in Potsdam, (at least three months).
