Lawfulness of processing

The legal basis for data processing is your consent to the processing of personal data (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR).

Right to withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out on the basis of your consent prior to its withdrawal. To exercise your right to withdraw consent, please use the contact details provided below.

Type of data

Each time our website is accessed, the following data is stored in log files for the purposes of operational and data security, as well as for statistical purposes:

•   Time of access,

•   UserAgent (browser and operating system used),

•   Pages or content elements accessed

The survey collects master data (student ID number, email address) and personal data such as gender, degree programme and the location where the university entrance qualification was obtained.

Recipients of the data

Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties.

Duration of data storage

The log data collected when a page is accessed is stored for a maximum of seven days. For the purposes of statistical analysis aimed at improving the University of Potsdam’s website, the data is anonymised by truncating the IP address and stored for a maximum of 12 months.

The deletion of personal master data is carried out semi-automatically at annual intervals by ZfQ staff. To ensure the long-term quality of the data, these staff members archive the data on a server at the University of Potsdam (ZfQ/ZIM) once it has been anonymised.
