Teaching-Learning-Lab

Project-based learning for students and teachers with their classes

The Department for English Language Education regularly offers experience-based teaching formats in the form of a so-called teaching-learning-labs. Within this framework, university students develop teaching projects for real English learning groups in the region, which are carried out at the university. In doing so, students gain their first teaching experience in a supportive environment, supplemented by participatory observation on the part of the lecturers. This serves as a basis for in-depth analysis and reflection on their own teaching practice. At the same time, the participating pupils benefit from additional, project-based learning opportunities outside their regular English lessons. Their accompanying teachers can engage in pedagogical exchanges with the lecturers and students.

We regularly implement the following Teaching-Learning-Lab scenarios with classes at lower and upper secondary level, but are also open to new project ideas.
