Enrollment for the practical term (Praxissemester) is solely organized by the ZeLB (Zentrum für Lehrerbildung und Bildungsforschung). General information about the goals and the realization of the practical term can be looked up at the "Praxissemesterordnung". Detailed information regarding the realization and the performance requirements in the subject English will be given in the first seminar (preparatory week).
Praxissemester im Ausland im Fach Englisch (school practical semester abroad with English as a subject)
Students who want to complete their practical semester at a school in a foreign country can find all further information here, since enrollment for the practical term (Praxissemester) is solely organized by the ZeLB (Zentrum für Lehrerbildung und Bildungsforschung).
Please plan your stay abroad as early as possible as you definitely need to attend the preparatory week (Vorbereitungswoche) before your practical semester abroad starts.
In order to meet further requirements of English as a subject, a learning agreement with the English didactics is obligatory. To receive this learning agreement (usually at the beginning of your application process), please follow the following steps:
- Download the Learning Agreement.
- Fill in your personal details (name, Matrikelnummer, Lehramt Primarstufe or Sekundarstufe I / II).
- Send the document to Susanna Lörken via E-mail: loerkenuuni-potsdampde. The filled in Learning agreement will then be sent to the ZeLB as well as to you via E-mail.
The learning agreement will include information on the requirements of English as a subject. Further detailed information regarding the realization and further performance requirements in the subject English will be given in the Vorbereitungswoche (preparatory week).
Should you consider applying at other schools than the cooperating schools with the University of Potsdam, please note that the school you apply at must offer English as a foreign language classes, so you can meet the requirements of visiting as well as teaching English as a foreign language classes according to the study regulations for the practical semester (Ordnung für das Schulpraktikum).
