DAAD-project „UP Network for Sustainable Teacher Education“
The project's first funding phase (2021–2024) laid the foundation for an interdisciplinary, transnational network that includes universities, German schools abroad, and other academic institutions. At the University of Potsdam, various disciplines and departments involved in teacher education (educational sciences, chemistry, German as a foreign language, English, French, geography, mathematics, music, Spanish, physical education) contributed to the implementation of this initiative. Project outcomes include the establishment and expansion of international partnerships, the development of (inter)cultural and (subject-)language competencies among students, as well as the integration of intercultural themes into teaching. Additionally, practice-oriented teaching projects in cooperation with partner institutions in Germany and abroad, online teaching formats, summer schools, and guest lectureships as well as scholarship-supported study abroad semesters at partner universities provided learning and exchange opportunities for students and staff.
