Virtual reality, 360-degree applications and foreign language learning is one of the 12 sub-projects of the ZeLB-project “UP Network for Sustainable Teacher Education”, which is part of the DAAD-funded program “Lehramt.International” (2021-24).

It aims at promoting digital competences of students in pre-service teacher education degree programs of French and German (FLE, DELE, other foreign languages, if applicable) through the critical-reflective use of and the design of their own 360-degree applications. Virtual visits of culturally significant places and the discussion of aspects of content and methodology of possible tasks built around these places (in cooperation with EDUC partners), are to raise awareness among students in pre-service teacher education degree programs for intercultural questions and problems. The following measures are being planned: 1) conclude research cooperation projects and agreements in various subject areas 2) implement virtual teaching and learning scenarios on 360-degree applications and virtual reality – as semester courses and shorter learning units, 3) further develop and evaluate the FoLD project of the Cuisine française interculturelle together with colleagues from the University of Potsdam and partner universities, 4) establish a workshop on digital teaching learning tools, especially 360-degree applications, between Rennes, Brno and Potsdam (every two years).
