We are delighted to welcome Alena Nikolaeva to the team as a student employee with immediate effect.
March 10: Publication
The study ‘Online Tutoring, School Performance, and School-to-Work Transitions: Evidence from a Randomised Controlled Trial’ by Silke Anger, Bernhard Christoph, Agata Galkiewicz, Shushanik Margaryan, Malte Sandner and Thomas Siedler will be published in the European Economic Review.
February 9: Innovative Teaching Projects 2025 – BA Children's Book Seminar
In the winter semester of 2025/26, Prof. Thomas Siedler offered a bachelor's seminar on the topic of “Discover the world of economics: Exciting stories about economic problems in children's book format” for the first time. The seminar was funded by the University of Potsdam as an “Innovative Teaching Project 2025.”
November 11: PhD Defense - Congratulations!
Congratulations to Agata Galkiewicz! She successfully defended her PhD thesis „Essays in Economics of Education: Fostering Human Capital Accumulation by lmproving Educational Outcomes and Well-Being of Children, Teenagers and Young Adults"“ and was awarded „Summa Cum Laude".
November 3 | Best Poster Award
Our PhD candidate Adrián Santonja participated in this year’s Heartland Environmental and Resource Economics Workshop at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he received the Best Poster Award for his project “Health Impacts of Transboundary Air Pollution: Evidence from the German-Polish Border,” co-authored with Thomas Siedler and Shushanik Margaryan.
