MuDiRe - Empowering Diversity Together!

How can diversity in the classroom become a strength? The MuDiRe project (2026–2030) is dedicated to addressing this question.

MuDiRe stands for “Multidimensional Diversity as a Resource for Cooperative Learning in Digital and Analog Spaces.”

The goal is to specifically leverage the multidimensional diversity of students as a resource for cooperative learning, thereby improving educational and participatory opportunities.

In MuDiRe, we focus on developing a scientifically grounded and practical conceptual framework for lower secondary education that integrates digital and analog learning formats. Building on this, diversity-sensitive lesson series are developed that promote subject-specific and cross-curricular competencies and are empirically evaluated. In doing so, we focus on social science subjects such as political sciences.

MuDiRe is based at the University of Potsdam in collaboration with schools and partners in the field. Through this close collaboration of science and practice, the project contributes to the creation of inclusive, effective, and future-oriented learning environments in which diversity is understood and utilized as a strength.

The responsibilities of the Chair of Empirical Research on Instruction and Schools within MuDiRe primarily involve the development of analog cooperative teaching phases as well as the empirical research and evaluation of the lesson series.
