Professional activity

Since April 2021	Professor for Romance Linguistics (French and Spanish) at the Institute of Romance Studies at the University of Potsdam.
September 2018 - March 2021	Temporary head councillor at the Seminar of Romance Languages at the University of Cologne.

December 2006 - March 2010	Research assistant in project B2 of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre 732: Incremental Specification in Context at the University of Stuttgart. Project title: Functionality and diachronic development of deverbal nominalisation processes in French and Italian.

August 2012 - December 2018	Habilitation at the Romance Seminar of the University of Cologne. Habilitation thesis: Language contact as a developmental co-determinant between systems and exemplars. Spanish and Yucatec Maya in Quintana Roo.
December 2006 - February 2010	Doctorate at the Institute for Linguistics/Romance Studies at the University of Stuttgart. Dissertation: Abstract meaning and regular word formation. A synchronic and diachronic study of the meaning of the French nominalisation suffixes -ment and -age.
October 2005 - November 2006	Magister examination and thesis at the Institute for Romance Studies at the University of Hamburg. Magister thesis: Function and distribution of subject pronouns in Old French in comparison with Old Spanish.
