The Starter-Kit Teaching
Effectively planning and delivering university courses involves a variety of complex tasks, such as addressing an audience of students, aligning examinations with learning objectives, and developing appropriate didactic concepts, translating theoretical approaches into practical teaching, and considering the specific characteristics of each learner group. These challenges are particularly pronounced for those new to teaching.
In response, the University of Potsdam offers a needs-based program to support new instructors and prepare them for their teaching responsibilities. This program is grounded in fundamental knowledge of higher education didactics and policy. Delivered in German, it includes the core content of the workshop “Starter-Kit Teaching in Higher Education”, while also addressing a wider range of topics relevant to day-to-day academic instruction.
