Master class “Waves and oscillations” at Lancaster University, UK (Maxime Lucas, Bastian Pietras): We spent the day with 9 students at the end of high-school, interested in studying physics at university the year after. We showed and explained them some things we do in our group, and they made a presentation at the end of the day.

I was interacting with the people who were passing by the stand I set up. I tried to explain my research to them. Description of the event: “Come along and join us for talks by female researchers on structural biology and neuroscience to ecology and climate change. Soapbox local organizers in Berlin are a team of scientists from different nationalities living in Berlin, where they study a range of topics within the life sciences. They have decided to organize the Soapbox Science Berlin events to fulfil the goal they share with the Soapbox Science initiative: make science available to people of all backgrounds and ages, and empower future female scientists.”
December 22nd 2017. Presentation for high school students in Venice, Italy (Irene Malvestio): I did a two hour presentation with the title ‘Oscillazioni: applicazioni insolite di fisica e matematica’ (Oscillation: unusual application of Physics and Math). There were around 50 high school students from http://www.liceogalileidolo.gov.it/pvw/app/VELS0006/pvw_sito.php.The presentation was very interactive, I was asking a lot of question to make them actively participate and they were actually replying and asking questions as well. I spoke about scientific topic but I also described our COSMOS project and the characteristic of Marie Curie european network.
