June 2025: New NamTip video highlights ecological fieldwork

With support from the ZIM Multimedia Production Team of the University of Potsdam, a new video has been produced to showcase NamTip’s ecological fieldwork. It is intended for presentation to project partners and stakeholders at the upcoming NamTip Final Meeting.

The video introduces two core components of NamTip’s ecological research, which aim to better understand tipping point dynamics in Namibia’s rangelands. The "TipEx" experimental platform simulates the combined impacts of drought and heavy grazing, while a bush thinning study investigates how rangelands recover following the removal of encroaching woody plants. Together, these approaches offer valuable insights for managing and restoring these fragile ecosystems before they cross critical thresholds, beyond which degradation may become irreversible.
