The NamTip Winter School "Identifying, Preventing and Reversing Tipping Points in Social-Ecological Systems" aims to strengthen the capacities of early-career scientists by deepening their understanding of social-ecological tipping points in savannah rangelands and exploring practical strategies to prevent or reverse ecosystem degradation. The programme will combine theoretical & practical modules and excursions on the following topics:
- Assessing degradation state of soil and grass layers
- Using drones to map rangeland degradation
- Rangeland restoration measures
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
