In addition to our work as PhDs, we also meet bi-monthly for our Young Scientists and Journal Club meetings. Here we discuss challenges and opportunities as young academics, as well as specific topics like preparing for paper submissions, interesting new software or data analysis techniques, and getting feedback on presentations. Journal Club is a more focused version of Young Scientists meetings where one of us selects a paper related to their research that they find interesting or challenging, present it to the group and we all discuss it.
