51% of first-year students are female, 45% of doctorates are written by women, but only 24% of full-time professorships are held by female professors.
Networks play a central role for female academics at all stages of their careers. They are an integral part of academic culture and help to strengthen academic careers. An interdisciplinary exchange about the conditions and processes at the various faculties is also essential for established female academics, as female professors are still disadvantaged when it comes to the allocation of key positions and financial resources, for example.
A framework for informal exchange is needed in order to ask questions and create spaces for solidarity in a competitive environment. A constructive way to strengthen exchange, visibility and mutual support is the formation and maintenance of networks.

Target group
ProfiNet is funded by the Professorinnenprogramm III and is therefore aimed at female professors of all status groups at the University of Potsdam who are interested in interdisciplinary exchange, events tailored to female professors and relevant career development offers.
