Developmental Language Disorders

Research Focus

We adopt a comparative approach to the study of language. Our work is comparative along several dimensions: we compare language families (Germanic, Romance, Semitic), speakers of different age groups (children, adolescents, adults) but also different developmental disorders (Specific Language Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder). In order to address theoretical- as well as clinically-oriented questions regarding these domains, we analyze explicit language skills combined to implicit ones (eye-movements). Among the phenomena investigated are: non-local dependencies, topicalization, use and processing of referring expressions, article choice, lexical development.
