Patholinguistics/Neurocognition of Language

Research Focus

Our group is interested in the behavioural manifestation of acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders, their neurological foundations, their assessment, and their evidence-based treatment. These functional deficits offer insights into theories and models of language representation, the understanding of language processing, and sensorimotor speech and swallowing functions. In addition, we are interested in language processing in the unimpaired brain across life-span. In order to characterize these functions in different populations with and without acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders, we apply various behavioural and neuroscientific methods.
