Biografie
Dr. Ülker Sözen received her PhD degree in Sociology in 2017 from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Turkey. She was a postdoctoral fellow from 2019 to 2022 at IRGAC and conducted research on civil society activism and authoritarianism. From 2022 to 2026, she has worked at the Institute for the Study of Religions at Leipzig University in the DFG project “Piety and Secularity Contested: Family and Youth Politics in post-Kemalist New Turkey”. She is currently a Gerda Henkel Stiftung postdoc fellow at the Chair of Development Politics in the project “Platformization, Forms of Authoritarianism, and the Future of Democracy: Perspectives from the Global South.”
