Information access for blind and visually impaired

The aim of this ZIM cooperation project with the company metec, sponsored by the BMWi, is the conception and development of a framework and the corresponding tools for the uncomplicated use of applications on interactive tactile Braille displays for visually impaired and blind users. The use of this software development kit (SDK) should be very simple, based on existing technologies of the operating system and the interfaces from other applications for reading the screen contents (eg screenreaders).

The subproject at the University of Potsdam focusses on the development of libraries and tools.
