Bridge course in mathematics for all STEM subjects & Informatics
At the start of the fall semester, we offer a bridging course in mathematics for first-year students majoring in STEM subjects and informatics.
The goal of the course is to fill gaps in mathematical knowledge and skills and to improve your understanding of mathematical concepts and fundamentals, in order to help you get off to a smooth start in your studies. You will review material covered during high school in small practice groups.
Please note that the bridge course is offered in German only.
When?
The bridge course always takes place during the two weeks before the start of classes for the winter semester, in late September/early October.
This year, it will be held from September 28 to October 9, 2026.
Where?
The bridge course takes place on the Golm Campus:
University of Potsdam | Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 24/25 | 14476 Potsdam
You’ll be able to see which building and room each course component will take place in starting around mid-September in the Open.Up course. You’ll also find accompanying online materials there.
How?
The bridge course consists of several topics. Each topic includes online material, a lecture, a lecture hall exercise, and a tutorial in smaller groups of up to 30 people. You’ll find the exact schedule in the Open.Up course starting around mid-September.
The online materials (e.g., lecture notes, exercises) will be made available to you digitally in the Open.Up course. The exercises take place on the Golm campus. There are usually several exercise groups for each topic, so you can create your own individual schedule.
