American and Africana Studies In Europe

"American and Africana Studies in Europe" is a joint summer program offered by the University of Potsdam's Department of English and American Studies and the Department of Africana Studies of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The 2-week program gives students the chance to understand how America and the African American experience are perceived in Europe and Germany.
- Program duration: June 12-25, 2021 (2 weeks)
- Application deadline: March 1, 2021 (rolling admission)
- Students will participate in joint sessions and field trips.
- Welcome & Farewell ceremony
- City tours in Potsdam & Berlin
- Field trips to Potsdam and Berlin

- Students will share rooms at a local hostel (breakfast is included).
- The program is open to Southern Illinois University Carbondale students.
- Individuals from other institutions must be admitted to SIU to receive transfer credit.
