Research

The research projects of the Chair of Psychological Primary Education are based in the field of empirical educational research and deal with teaching and learning in the context of primary schools. This includes, in particular, the topics of developing and promoting reading skills, inclusive primary school teaching, and transferring empirical research findings into school practice of educational support. The theoretical basis of our work is formed by models of self-regulated learning, the acquisition of skills in school contexts, and the teaching of skills through social and expert-led learning processes.

Teaching

The chair participates in bachelor's and master's degree programs in the field of primary education. In these seminars, the focus of our teaching is on imparting specialist knowledge and practical skills in the field of primary school teaching and learning. For example, in addition to approaches for promoting subject-specific skills and theories and findings on cooperative and self-regulated learning, methods and concepts of primary school research are also considered.
