Lectures

Winter term 2019/20:

Interstellar Plasma:

* Master of Science Astrophysics, module PHY-735 *                                                                           * Master of Science Physics, modules 731, 732 *

99% of cosmic matter is in plasma state, and the energies stored in magnetic field, turbulence are in many cases comparable to other forms of matter. As the result, magnetic field and turbulence are crucial in many astrophysical processes. This seminar devoted to interstellar medium, with emphasis on magnetic fields and turbulence, their dynamics, roles on various interstellar processes, and the ways to detect them.

  • S / Monday 10:15 - 11:45 / Golm, building 28, room 2.28.0.104

Research projects for Master students (by arrangement)

  • Introductory project Astrophysics: The students select an upper-level seminar and an introductory project in the same topic area. The toopic of the introductory project generally corresponds to their specialization area for their Master´s thesis.                                                                                                                                                               * Master of Science Physics, modules 941, PHY941 *                                                                   * Master of  Science Astrophysics, module PHY-941 *
  • Research training Astrophysics: The students carry out a supervised independent study and a guided lab in the field of the Master´s thesis. The supervision and guidance are provided in regular consultations with the supervisor(s).                          * Master of Science Physics, modules 942, PHY942 *                                                                     * Master of Science Astrophysics, module PHY-942 *
